Welcome to Mrs. Kingston's and Mrs. Thompson's 5th grade classroom
Hi, I'm Mrs. Kingston. I have been involved in the Lake Mills school system for the past 11 years. I begin my career working in the LMC as the elementary library teacher. I enjoyed reading to students and teaching them how the library operates. After two years I got the opportunity to teach fourth graders. I truly enjoyed being in the fourth grade classroom. In the summer of 2008 I joined Mrs. Thompson and two other collegues in a literacy project associated with the University of Northern Iowa. We began to implement ideas in our classrooms. Then in the fall of 2011 I got the opportunity to co-teach with Mrs. Thompson in the fourth grade classrom. We enjoyed it so much we asked to do it the following year. We were granted our wish but moved to a new grade level. We are currently co-teaching 5th grade.
Hi, I am Mrs. Thompson. I have been teaching in Lake Mills for 11 years. I graduated from Waldorf College receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a Reading and Special Education Endorsement. I taught high school special education for 1 year, middle school reading and math for 1 year, and elementary special education for the last 8 years. I have also co-taught in second, third, fourth, and fifth grade classrooms. I have also been part of a Literacy Project through the University of Northern Iowa since 2008. I love teaching and helping the students learn and grow.
